About the Project

The Tanzania League of the Blind, in collaboration with the Tanzania Albinism Society and the Zanzibar National Association of the Blind, implemented a joint project advocating for inclusive education and health services for persons with visual impairment and persons with albinism.

The project was implemented across nine districts: Ikungi, Iramba, Morogoro Municipal, Kilosa, Bahi, Mpwapwa, Kaskazini A, Kaskazini Kati and Wete, Pemba.

The initiative was supported by MyRight / SRF Sweden.

What We Aim to Achieve

This project addresses specific barriers experienced by persons with visual impairment and works towards practical, sustainable improvements.

  • Access to Inclusive Education

    Promote learning environments where persons with visual impairment and persons with albinism can access education without discrimination or unnecessary barriers.

  • Better Access to Health Services

    Advocate for health services that recognize and respond to the needs of persons with visual impairment and persons with albinism.

  • Greater Awareness

    Increase understanding among communities and stakeholders about inclusion, equal opportunities and the rights of persons with disabilities.

  • Stronger Advocacy

    Strengthen engagement with relevant institutions and decision-makers to improve inclusive education and health services.
